Forest Park
Forest park is located in the NW hills of Portland, Oregon. I would put this on a must see list whether your a resident of Portland or a visitor. When you start along the path you forget that you are in the heart of a city. The earthy smells, the trees swaying creating a canopy overhead, flowers both large and small some hidden within the most delicate of plants, ferns grow in all sizes along with the moss that creates a carpet on trees and rocks. You will hear the sound of the creek flowing and the many different birds that have made this paradise their home.
Forest park is over 5,000 acres and is home to over 100 mammals and over 100 different types of birds. This is a must see park. Many people come to hike, bike and run the many trails. The park has wonderful look out points where you can see the Willamette and the Mountains in the distance.
