Hawthorne District




The Bagdad Theater on Hawthorne Blvd

Hawthorne district is located in SE Portland.  Home of some of the best breakfast places in Portland the "Hawthorne Cafe" (Specializing in Eggs Florentine) or "Cup and Saucer". Be prepared to wait on the weekends for the lines can be long. 

Along Hawthorne you will find a variety of shops brom barbur shops that serve beer while you get a cut, tatoo parlors, novelty shops, gift shops, record stores, clothing boutiques, furniture shops, you will find a smaller Powells bookstore, Pasta Works (specializing in fresh pasta, specialty foods and wine).  One of the highlights and largest landmark on Hawthorne is the "Bagdad Theater".  Owned by the McMenamin brothers it offers 2nd run movies for $3.00 and sells Pizza by the slice, snacks, beer, wine and coctails that you can enjoy while watching the movie.  Matinees and first showing of the day are open to all ages with and adult. 

Hawthorne District has something for everyone.  

Hawthorne is built up of many neighborhoods including Buckman, Hosford Abernathy, Ladd's Edition, Sunnyside, Mt. Tabor and Richmond.
